Minister of Agriculture Eng. Khaled Al-Hunaifat signed this morning an agreement for Factory No. 20, which includes the establishment of a production plant with Nomu International Food Industries Company – a factory for the production of semi-fried potatoes within the agricultural industrial complexes project to attract the private sector to invest in the agricultural sector in the Ghor Al-Mazraa and Al-Haditha Industrial Complex – Southern Ghor / Karak Governorate.
The agreement includes the establishment of a factory for the production of semi-fried potatoes with a production capacity of 3 tons/hour, using the raw material (processed potatoes) from local Jordanian production, as the produced processed potatoes are distinguished by their distinctive specifications for the manufacture of semi-fried potatoes.
The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nomu International Food Industries Company, Mr. Hassan Mohammed Al-Kbous. The Minister explained that the Ministry is working within the directives of the Royal Vision and the Economic Modernization Program to enhance food security and self-reliance in food production and provision in the Kingdom, which will affect the creation of job opportunities in these factories for the people of the region and reduce poverty and unemployment, in addition to providing high-quality food products at reasonable prices and reducing the import bill for these food products. He added that the Ministry is continuing to support the establishment of food industry projects to achieve self-sufficiency in these goods. For his part, he praised Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nomu International Food Industries, Mr. Hassan Al-Kabous, commended the Minister of Agriculture and the Ministry’s staff for their continued efforts in achieving investment goals and striving to strengthen the food industries sector in the Kingdom.
